Safari Styles
Built around the pace children can manage, with a private vehicle so there's no minimum age.
The Shape of the Trip
Shorter driving days, a private 4x4 so there is no minimum-age rule, family rooms or connecting tents, flexible mealtimes, and pools to burn off energy. Guides who know how to keep younger travellers looking, spotting and asking questions.
Families with children of almost any age. The northern circuit works best — shorter distances, dense wildlife, and lodges used to younger guests.
Lodges and camps with family units, pools and room to move — some run junior-ranger activities, early kids' mealtimes and babysitting. A private vehicle means you set the rhythm.
Many camps set a minimum age (often 6 or 12) for shared vehicles and walking activities; a private vehicle removes that. Talk to your doctor early about malaria precautions for children. Two or three parks is plenty — resist the urge to add more.
Starting Points
A few of our trips that suit this style. Each is a starting point — we adjust the route, the pace and the camps to fit you.
Tailor-made, always
Tell us the ages of everyone travelling and how long you have. We'll pick parks with short drives and lodges that welcome children, and keep the days at a pace that works.
