A Kilimanjaro climb is usually booked one of two ways: private (just your own party) or as a scheduled group departure (you join other climbers on a fixed date). Both use the same routes, the same guiding standards and the same support crew — the choice comes down to budget, dates and who you want to climb with. We run both.
You choose the route and the start date, set the pace, and climb only with the people you booked with. This suits couples, families and groups of friends, and anyone who needs a specific date — a birthday, a full moon, a slot before or after a safari. Per-person cost is a little higher for a small party and comes down as the group grows.
Scheduled departures are set dates through the year that a solo traveller or a small party can join, keeping the per-person cost down and letting you share the experience with others doing the same climb. Group sizes are kept moderate, with enough guides to split walkers by pace.
Solo climbers are welcome on a group departure at the standard price — most people share a tent, and a private tent is a small optional extra. A solo private climb is priced as a group of one.
