Napuru Waterfalls Hike

1 day Private half-day trip from Arusha

The Napuru Waterfall (the local name for the Meru Forest falls) drops around 80 metres down a mossy rock face in the forest reserve on Mount Meru's lower slopes, just outside Arusha. After a short drive to the trailhead, the walk in is roughly 4 km each way — one and a half to two hours — on a moderate forest path that crosses streams and climbs gradually, with the waterfall and Mount Meru as the backdrop.

It's a straightforward nature outing: forest birds, colobus monkeys, a picnic near the falls, and back to Arusha by early afternoon. Good as a leg-stretch on an arrival or departure day, and easily combined with Lake Duluti.
