Tarangire Safari Lodge

The oldest lodge in Tarangire, family-owned since 1985, on a bluff above the river — a mix of bungalows and permanent tents with one of the best views in the park.

Safari Lodge ★★★☆☆ Mid-range Cliff above the Tarangire River Tarangire National Park

Tarangire Safari Lodge has been run by the same family since 1985 and sits on a cliff about ten minutes inside the park gate, looking down a long bend of the Tarangire River that concentrates elephant, giraffe and other game — you can watch a lot of wildlife from the bar. Accommodation is a choice of thatched bungalows or large walk-in safari tents, all simple and comfortable rather than luxurious.

It's the classic mid-range Tarangire base: great location, honest prices, decades of experience.
