Lake Duluti Canoe & Forest Walk

1 day Private half-day trip from Arusha (about 20 minutes)

Lake Duluti is a small volcanic crater lake inside a forest reserve near Tengeru, about 15 km east of Arusha. No motorboats are allowed, so the lake stays calm: a guided canoe hugs the reed margins where kingfishers, herons, cormorants and fish eagles feed, and large monitor lizards bask on the banks. More than 130 bird species have been recorded here.

A guided walk of about an hour circles part of the crater rim through the forest, with viewpoints over the water and, on a clear day, Mount Meru and Kilimanjaro. It's a low-effort half day — a good, calm option close to the city, and often paired with the Napuru waterfall hike or a coffee tour.
